Launched in 1998, the Patek Philippe ref. 5085A followed the introduction of the Nautilus and Aquanaut collection of luxury sport watches from the brand. Featuring an uncommon design that bridged sports and formal watches, this steel timepiece is an exemplary example of Patek's willingness to experiment.

Using a slim 37mm x 10mm case shape that works just as well beneath a dress cuff as with a T-shirt, its silhouette is defined by a thoughtfully contrasted mix of polished and brushed finishing throughout. Secured to the wrist via a robust steel bracelet with a scale-like? beads of rice? aesthetic, this watch is unlike anything else and has the exact same micro-rotor movement as it's elder brother the Nautilus 5712.
